Nasreena Ibrahim
Nasreena Ibrahim is the former First Lady of the Maldives, wife of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom.
A member of one of the influential high society families of the Maldives and is the wife of once president of Maldives for 3 decades, Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom. While not an active politician, Nasreena was known to have great influence on the country's policies, not only because she was the First Lady, but also as her siblings either are or had been, influential Cabinet ministers (see Ilyas Ibrahim and Abbas Ibrahim).
Nasreena is one of the founding members of the Society for Health Education (SHE), one of the first charity based Non-governmental organisations in the Maldives, that works in a variety of health fields, but particularly in Thalasemia and Women's Health.
